There are lots of new synths bands around at the moment. Human League meets OMD meets New Order. Nation of Language from good old Brooklyn (where else?) are one of the best. They do it with ease. September again is one a great und, don’t you think? And by the way. The vocals remind me al lot of Mat Berninger of The National.

Song of the Week – Drab City – WOrking for the Men – Episode 100
Bella Union is one of the most amazing lables around. Started in Brighthon they have released some of the best music over the past decade. Their newest pet is called Drab City. You can easily understand why Trendengel is so excited about them. Just listen to Working for the Men:
As little bonus and because this is Song of the Week Nr. 100 I’m adding Drab CIty’s newest song “Devil Doll” in the mix as well.
Song of the Week – Eve Owen – She Says – Episode 99
Eve Owen is touted to be the new British Angel Olsen or Sharon van Etten. Possibly…she sure has something special to her voice. Most people like her new song “Mother” the best; I prefer “She Says”

Song of the Week – Porridge Radio – Lilac – Episode 93
Porridge Radio are THE band of 2020. Their debut record is totally sublime. The gang from Brighton is coming to its own. A joy, a real joy. Lilac is just one example for the craftsmanship of singer and song writer Dana Margolin
Song of the Week – Baxter Dury – I’m Not Your Dog – Episode 92
Baxter Dury is one of the most underrated singers of the past decade. A bit of Iggy, a bit of Cohen a bit of “Schmalz”. I’m Not Your Dog is a little taster.
