Buscabulla is the music project of Puerto Rican designer and Brooklyn resident, Raquel Berrios and Luis Alfredo Del Valle. I really like this. A bit italo disco meets latino pop meets independent spirit. What’s not to like? NTE is their newest present to the world.
Esther is from Sweden and the first artist I ever saw as a lead to play the xylophone on stage. As the opening act for nordic legends Amason she mesmerised in Copenhagen – Meeting Place is an example of her talent. Wanna hear the xylophone? Brooke Bentham is a force of nature. Her debut album is possibly the best thing that happened to music this year so far. The song to prove it is called Control and goes like this:

This is Sharon van Etten’s latest master piece. Listen to it once – you might think this is OK – listen to it 5 times and you are convinced this is the greatest invention since sliced bread.

Modern Nature is so different. The amazing Jack Cooper with a little help from his friends is a genius for sure. I had a chance to catch them in Brooklyn the other night and I was blown away. One thing that shouldn’t work is the saxophone that comes with a very jazzy touch. Alt-J and Bombay Bicycle Club come to mind but not in a copy cat kind of way – more as a reference.
